JF. Pierets was female art duo and lovers Fleur Pierets and Julian P. Boom.
Schooled in art history and hydrography in Belgium and The Netherlands, they merged their eclectic backgrounds into one voice to reflected their experiences and dynamics as a female couple in a society of conventional narratives. Their work balanced between photography and theory, performance and non-fiction. Fascinated by gender, identity and community, their research-based practice functioned as a mirror in which viewers can confront themselves with ideologies or beliefs.

In both their artwork and in their research platform Et Alors? Magazine, we were working towards cultural awareness when it comes to gender equality and gay imagery in mainstream art history.
